You have successfully measured your track or pole and grasped the concept of 'collect', both of which are significant yet tedious subjects. Well done! As a reward, let's move on to a more exciting topic: heading styles!

There are numerous heading styles available. Blackout Curtains Dubai in the ready-made section are available with pencil pleat, eyelet, or tab-top headings. In the made-to-measure area, we offer all fabrics with pencil pleat, eyelet, tab top, or pinch pleat headings. But which heading is which, and what is the optimum usage for each?

Pencil pleat

This is the most common and popular heading style. The pencil pleat is a versatile and unobtrusive heading. It might appear classy or casual, depending on the clothing used.

The drawing illustrates the pleating along the upper edge of the curtain. The quantity of gather allowed determines the tightness or number of pleats. For this type of heading, we recommend at least two gatherings. To create the pleats, sew an 8 cm/3" strip across the top of the curtain. This tape has strings that, when pulled, draw the curtain.

You can hang pencil pleat curtains on a track by placing the top of the curtain in front of the track, effectively hiding it. Pencil pleating is also commonly used as a valence header.

Eyelets are quickly becoming the most popular heading style. Eyelets provide a trendy, contemporary look to your drapes.

In the ready-made sector, the heading tape attaches the eyelets to the curtain. The made-to-measure department individually applies eyelets in a variety of colors, such as satin silver, brass, gunmetal, and old gold. They have an internal diameter of 40 mm and can accommodate poles of up to 30 mm.

Eyelet curtains generate concertina-style pleats, making them ideal for door curtains because they stack neatly.

Tab-top curtains spent a lengthy time at the top of the curtain heading charts in the 1980s and 1990s. They appear to have declined in popularity since the advent of eyelet headings, which is unfortunate. A tab-top heading is extremely versatile; depending on the fabric, it can seem either casual or sophisticated.

The tab, which is made of the same fabric as the curtain, creates a loop through which you can thread a curtain pole with a diameter of up to 4.5 cm.

Because of the width of the tabs across the pole, we propose only one and a half gathers for this style. Placing the curtains higher than this will prevent their removal from the window aperture. As a result, they are not suitable for use as door curtains, but they can look great as display curtains.

Pinch Pleat

Although only available as a made-to-measure option, this uniquely customized heading style is possibly the most exquisite option.

For each individual customer, we make our pinch pleats by hand. If you plan to acquire this style of heading, precise measurements are important! We calculate the pleat spacing based on each customer's dimensions to ensure an equal distribution of pleats over the curtain and the correct amount of fullness. Pinch pleats look their best when draped from a pole.

We open the curtains concertina-style, folding the fabric between the pleats back toward the window. You can hang them from a track, but make sure the top of the curtain is lower than the track to expose the track below. Pinch pleats are best used as valence headings or in curtains hung from a pole.
