Rare earth nanomaterials exhibit excellent optical, magnetic and physical properties, which have attracted considerable attention from researchers and are helpful in the development of new materials. Rare earth elements have special electronic configurations and are widely used in bioimaging, biodetection, drug metabolism and disease treatment. Rare earth nanomaterials can be prepared by hydrothermal method, microemulsion method, sol-gel method, combustion method, precipitation method, electrochemical method, template method and other methods. Rare earth nanomaterials include rare earth nanoparticles, rare earth nanopowders, rare earth nanofilms, rare earth nanoceramics, rare earth nano-optical materials, and rare earth nano-hydrogen storage materials. Rare earth nanomaterials are one of the current research hotspots. In the future, rare earth nanomaterials with various properties, various forms, high performance and multifunctionality will be developed for a wide range of applications.
