You cannot fold the yoga mat in 2 or 4 layers, this will lead to creases and cracks, and over time the mat will begin to wear out in these same places;
When rolling, the top side should be on the outside so that the product does not curl at the edges and you do not catch on it with your hands and feet;
Do not roll the yoga mat too tightly, it should be loose in the roll;
All the above tips apply only to a dry mat. You cannot roll up a damp yoga mat for storage.
Please note that the yoga mat needs to be aired after each workout, as well as from time to time when storing it for a long time.
After training, you need to hang up the mat to dry and air it. This will help to avoid the growth of bacteria and the appearance of unpleasant odors. If you have taken a break from training and the yoga mat is stored for more than a month in a rolled-up form, you need to periodically take it out, unroll it and leave it to dry.

Before training, do not apply creams or lotions to your hands and feet - this not only makes the surface slippery and increases the risk of injury, but also contributes to the appearance of greasy stains on the yoga mat;
When practicing in a stuffy room, lay a yoga towel on your mat - it will prevent slipping and absorb sweat;
Never exercise in shoes - this will damage the mat and cause it to quickly fail. If the room is cool, you can wear socks;
Remove jewelry before practicing to avoid scratching or tearing your yoga mat;
If you are training outdoors, make sure there are no sharp stones, sticks, cones or other objects under the mat.
As a rule, after exercising outside, the mat should be cleaned especially thoroughly. Visible dirt should preferably be cleaned immediately.

Roll the yoga mat into a towel or lay it out on a board in the bathroom to let the water drain off – rubber mats absorb moisture well, so it will take some time to remove it;
Shake the mat;
Hang it to dry in a well-ventilated area (on the balcony, it is better to throw the yoga mat over 2 ropes at once and not use clothespins, which can leave marks);
Use only a completely dry mat for training (you can check this by pressing on it with your finger).
An electric clothes dryer cannot be used in this case. Direct sunlight can be dangerous for the yoga mat, especially if it is made of TPE or PVC. Hair dryers are also not used, and you should not leave the mat on a radiator. It is advisable to carefully inspect the yoga mat during the drying process: if soap stains appear on it, you will have to rinse the product again.
