FOD is any object or article located at a place where it shouldn’t be on the airfield. FOD has gained exposure after the studies over several decades. Now anyone working around aircraft has been taught about FOD foreign object damage so they should be mindful of the source of FOD along with knowing the ways to eliminate it. Besides this many preventive programs have also been introduced.
