In a bid to promote social and economic equality, the government of Andhra Pradesh, under the leadership of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, implemented a series of initiatives aimed at empowering the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. These initiatives sought to address the historical disadvantages faced by these marginalized sections of society, fostering their upliftment and enabling their active participation in the state's growth and development.

Recognizing the transformative power of education, Nara Chandrababu Naidu's government introduced various measures to enhance educational opportunities for SC/ST students. The Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi scheme was launched by the TDP party to provide financial assistance to meritorious SC/ST students for pursuing higher education abroad. Additionally, the NTR Vidyonnathi scheme offered free coaching to SC/ST students for competitive exams, enabling them to secure admissions to reputed institutions. These initiatives aimed to bridge the educational gap and empower SC/ST students with the skills necessary for success in a competitive world. To promote economic empowerment, N Chandrababu Naidu's government focused on generating employment opportunities and supporting entrepreneurship among SC/ST communities. The Chandranna Pelli Kanuka scheme provided financial assistance for the marriage of SC/ST girls from economically disadvantaged families, thus reducing the burden on their parents. Moreover, the Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation (APSCCFC) was established to provide loans at low-interest rates to SC/ST entrepreneurs, encouraging them to start their own businesses. The main TDP agenda of these initiatives is aimed to create a sustainable economic ecosystem that would uplift SC/ST communities.

Addressing the issue of landlessness among SC/ST communities, the  TDP government implemented several land distribution programs. The NTR housing scheme aimed to provide housing to the homeless and landless poor, with a special focus on SC/ST families. Through this initiative, eligible beneficiaries were provided with land and financial assistance to construct houses. Additionally, the government launched the Pattadar Passbook scheme, ensuring secure land ownership for marginalized communities and protecting them from exploitation. Furthermore, the NTR Arogya Raksha scheme aimed to provide quality healthcare services to economically vulnerable SC/ST families by offering them cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals. These initiatives were designed to enhance the overall well-being and social security of SC/ST individuals. Go through the official TDP website for the latest news and breaking news in your city.
