The LG Twins swept the SSG Landers to extend their winning streak to six games.
LG won 13-4 away from home against SSG in the Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League 2024 on Monday at SSG Landers Park in Incheon, South Korea.
With the sixth consecutive win, LG remained in second place with 31 wins, two ties and 23 losses, while SSG dropped to 25 wins, one tie and 28 losses, its eighth straight loss.
LG's Kim Hyun-soo went 4-for-5 with a home run and one RBI. Starting pitcher Lim Chan-kyu pitched seven innings of nine-hit ball, striking out six and walking one to earn his third win of the season.
Meanwhile, SSG starter Song Young-jin suffered his second loss of the season (1-1) after giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits, two walks and two strikeouts in four innings.
LG set the tone from the start. In the top of the first, back-to-back singles by Moon Sung-ju and Kim Hyun-soo put runners on first and third. SSG fought back. In the bottom of the third inning, Go Myung-joon, Kim Min-sik, and Jeon Hyun-seung hit back-to-back singles to load the bases. Choi Ji-hoon and Choi Jun-woo followed with back-to-back grounders to the first baseman to score two runs.
After giving up the lead, LG also had its chances. In the top of the fifth, Moon Sung-joo singled and Kim Hyun-soo walked to put runners on first and second with no outs, and Austin singled to score a run. Park Dong-won singled and Moon Bo-kyung grounded out to score another run to make it 5-2.

In the bottom of the ninth, LG's Kim Dae-hyun struck out the next three batters to secure the 13-4 victory and extend LG's winning streak to six games.
