Like its neighbor to dordle the west, Vermont is full with individuals who seem ready to go on a trek at a moment's notice. You can't go wrong with so much zeal. Vermont's tallest peak, Mount Mansfield, has two miles of scenic ridge-top and alpine hiking. Hikers may reach the peak of Mount Mansfield through many routes, but our personal favorite is the Long Trail. The Long Trail extends for 272 miles, yet just 2.5 miles are needed to reach the summit of 4,393-foot Manfield Peak.

The Pinhoti Trail spans 337.1 miles from Alabama to Georgia, with 171 of those miles being inside the Yellowhammer State. Pinhoti, the state's longest hiking path, starts at the summit of Cheaha, the highest peak in the state. The Ozark Highlands Trail is a popular hiking route in the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas. The Ozark Highland Trail is 230 miles long and is a branch off of the much longer main Ozark Trail. Day hikers in the Ozark National Forest should choose a segment that passes close to one of the numerous refreshing swimming holes. Keep in mind that the Ozark Highland Trail will ultimately cover a total distance of 320 kilometers (200 miles) through northern Arkansas.

Cape Henlopen State Park, located near Lewes, is a great place to go hiking in Delaware. Nearly six and a half miles long, the Gordons Pond Trail is a great stroll for people interested in seeing the state's animals and, of course, the Atlantic shore. Everglades National Park in Florida is home to 1.5 million acres of breathtaking wilderness. It would take months of hiking to see everything remarkable in the Everglades. However, the Snake Bight Trail is a good place to begin since it passes through a tropical forest and ends at Florida Bay.
Â
Appalachian Trail hikers will find Georgia to be ideal. The Benton MacKaye Trail spans 300 miles of the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains. The Benton MacKaye Trail, which connects to the AT at its commencement on Springer Mountain, is renowned for its breathtaking vistas, tranquil rivers, and heart-stopping suspension bridge over the Toccoa River.

One of the finest things to do in Kentucky is to go hiking in Daniel Boone National Forest. Natural Arch Loop Trail #510, one of several in a park that is divided into four sections with different topography and kilometers of hiking routes, is a must-take path due to its picturesque natural arch, which is flanked by thick trees that exhibit bright leaves every fall. The Wild Azalea Trail is the state's longest hiking route and passes through a variety of landscapes, including flowering hills in the spring and hidden bayous in the woods. The Kisatchie National Forest and the Valentine Lake Recreation Area are just two of the many beautiful Louisiana landmarks that the 24-mile path passes through.
